Morocco and Saudi Arabia signed on Monday in Riyadh a memorandum of understanding to bolster cooperation in the field of government digital transition.
The memorandum was initialed by Morocco’s Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, and Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah bin Amer Alswaha, on the sidelines of the United Nations Internet Governance Forum, held on December 15-19 in Saudi Arabia.
This partnership aims to strengthen coordination and cooperation between the two parties, through support for research and innovation, adopting new technologies in the field of E-government and sharing best practices, as well as enshrining specialized skills.
The meeting between Seghrouchni and Alswaha also provided an opportunity to examine ways of bolstering technical partnership between the two countries and developing digital infrastructure for a sustainable digital transition.
The 19th UN Internet Governance Forum is attended by member states of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), including Morocco.
Over 10,000 participants from 160 countries, as well as some 1,000 international speakers, are also taking part in the Forum.
Some 300 thematic sessions and workshops are scheduled for this event, focusing on international trends and policies in Internet governance.
