Cristiano Ronaldo has reached an agreement with Saudi club Al-Nassr to extend his contract by one year, until June 2026, a club official revealed on Monday.
According to the source, both parties have agreed on the contract extension, which is renewable, although the official signing has not yet taken place. “An announcement will be made in the coming days,” the official stated.
Ronaldo, who turned 40 last week, was initially contracted with Al-Nassr until June 2025. Since joining the club in January 2023, the former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus forward has scored 82 goals in 90 matches.
Last August, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner hinted that he might end his career with Al-Nassr, stating that his retirement could happen “soon or in two or three years.” “But it will most likely happen with Al-Nassr, in the team that makes me happy… and where I feel good,” he said.
Although he has likely missed out on World Cup glory, a feat achieved by his longtime rival Lionel Messi, Ronaldo continues to chase records. As he nears the milestone of 1,000 professional goals in official matches, he has yet to win a Saudi or continental title with Al-Nassr. His only trophy with the club so far remains the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup.
